December 15, 2014 – Several staff and resident efforts this holiday season have raised funds and collected food to benefit local organizations.
Readers’ Theater Produces Classic
The Carroll Lutheran Village resident Readers’ Theater put on two performances of the Charles Dickens Christmas classic A Christmas Carol on December 11. Tickets were free with a donation to The Shepherd’s Staff in Westminster. More than $1,850 was raised for the organization!
Annual Resident Campaign for Food Sunday
Residents of the Village collected just under $3,700 for Carroll County Food Sunday in their annual holiday campaign for the organization through free will offerings at worship services and at several collection points on campus. The funds will be presented to the organization through the Carroll County Times’ annual Holiday Hope campaign.
Annual Employee Food Drive
Carroll Lutheran Village staff collected 215 pounds of non-perishable food in November to donate to Carroll County Food Sunday just before Thanksgiving. That’s 40 pounds more than was raised last year!
