April 19, 2015 – Carroll Lutheran Village held an open house reception on April 18 for volunteers who volunteered with the Village in 2014, as well as residents who volunteered in the greater community. Those in attendance were treated to heavy hors d’oeuvres and entertainment.
In 2014, nearly 400 volunteers (20 students, 275 residents and 75 members of the greater community) documented more than 24,800 volunteer hours – time valued at $559,330.
Many of those hours are directly involved with resident activities, one-to-one visits with residents in the skilled nursing Health Care Center and assisted living Diven House, and the Residents Association Council. Volunteers also served on the Board of Trustees and various committees, supported the chaplaincy, operated two gift shops, and assisted the marketing department.
A separate luncheon will be held on June 11 for volunteers who documented 100 hours or more last year and meet the criteria to receive the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
Anyone interested in volunteering at Carroll Lutheran Village may contact Volunteer Coordinator Maryann Leckron at 443-605-1011 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Carroll Lutheran Village is a not-for-profit accredited continuing care retirement community in Westminster that includes 398 homes and apartments, 50 assisted living suites in the Diven House and 103 skilled nursing beds in the Health Care Center.
