October 28, 2015 – Carroll Lutheran Village was the host for the 4th Annual “Off the Shelf” FUNdraising Gala to benefit Carroll County Food Sunday on Thursday, October 22. The event raised $10,800 for the organization.
The Village’s award winning Executive Chef, Chris Spear, used food pantry staples like Spaghetti-O’s, Spam, bologna and canned vegetables among other ingredients to create a gourmet meal for more than 120 guests. The menu included Southern Wedding Soup, Pork Patty with Tomato Jam, and Peach Cobbler & Corn Husk Ice Cream.
During the event, Carroll County Food Sunday presented Carroll Lutheran Village with a Partnership Award. The Village has provided the venue and staff support to produce “Off the Shelf” each of the four years the event has been held.
Partnership Awards were also presented to Chris Spear and General Manager of Dining Services Elaine Peterson in recognition of the time, effort and personal commitment to the event.
The 5th Annual “Off the Shelf” FUNdraising Gala is scheduled for October 20, 2016 at Carroll Lutheran Village.
