October 6, 2015 – Five members were elected to the Carroll Lutheran Village Board of Trustees at the annual Corporation Meeting on September 29.
Dr. Alice Daum-Coen, a retired teacher and Carroll Lutheran Village resident, and Arthur Wisner, treasurer/director of financial services for McDaniel College, were elected to their first three-year term. Roberta Dillow, a Baltimore Gas & Electric retiree and Carroll Lutheran Village Resident, Carol Plunkert, a Realtor with Century 21 in Westminster, and Marlene Titus, cyber technology navigator for Carroll Community College, were elected to their second three-year terms.
Ed Leister of Westminster retired from the board. In addition to recognition for his years of service to the Board, Leister was awarded the President’s Award for his more than 35 years of service to the Village. He served as a board member and board leader from 1978-1983, 2000-2006 and 2009-2015, making significant contributions to the start-up and growth of the community. Leister chaired the first benefit auction in 1986 for the Resident Assistance Fund; participated in the former auxiliary, Friends of the Village; and has served on the Golf Committee. In 2004 he was named to the founding Board for The Lutheran Village at MILLER’S GRANT, an expansion community under construction in Ellicott City, a position he still holds today.
When not advancing the mission of Carroll Lutheran Village, Leister gives generously of his time, talent and treasure to Grace Lutheran Church, Carroll Lutheran School, Carroll County Food Sunday and the Carroll County Commission on Aging and Disabilities, among other worthy organizations.
