October 1, 2015 – Discussion topics for the 2016 Great Decisions discussion series have been announced. The program is co-hosted locally by Carroll Lutheran Village and McDaniel College and sponsored by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce.
Great Decisions is a national program produced by the American Foreign Policy Association, which seeks to convey a clear understanding of current worldwide issues that impact the United States. Locally, the program is expanded to include speakers on each topic.
The 2016 topics include:
- The Middle East
- The Rise of ISIS
- The Future of Kurdistan
- The Koreas
- The United Nations
- Climate Change
- Cuba and the U.S.
Each topic in the series is addressed through lecture, video and a participant question and answer session. Participants are expected to have read the applicable articles in the Great Decisions briefing book.
The eight-week program will be held on Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Krug Chapel Auditorium at Carroll Lutheran Village beginning January 28, 2016. Cost is $40 per person or $65 per couple. Registration will be held October 15 through November 30.
