Reaver Retires from Village Corner Gift Shop
December 31, 2014 – Carroll Lutheran Village resident Thelma Reaver retired as a volunteer in the Village Corner Gift Shop on December 30. Reaver had served as manager and buyer since 2001, long before moving to the Village.
Reaver became active with Carroll Lutheran Village in 1987 through the former Friends of the Village Auxiliary (FOV). During her time with FOV she chaired numerous committees and fundraisers and served as its president from 1991 to 1997.
The Village Corner Gift Shop is one of two gift shops on campus. Net proceeds from all sales in the Village Corner and the Shop on the Square gift shops benefit the Ministry of Caring Endowment, which assists residents who have outlived their financial resources and other initiatives that benefit older adults in our community.
Reaver plans to take some time off and is considering a return to volunteerism in the future. A reception was held in her honor on December 30 immediately following her last volunteer shift in the Village Corner Gift Shop.
