HISTORIC DISTRICT

Old Ellicott City was founded as a mill town in the late 1700’s. Today, the historic district is best known for the antique stores, art galleries, boutiques, toy stores and gift shops that line Main Street as well as being one of the region’s premiere dining districts offering fine cuisine, corner bistros, brew pubs and wine bars.

PARKS

Centennial Park is a prime spot for fishing and boating. With seven miles of walking trails and picnic pavilions, it’s a great place to spend the day with friends. Patapsco Valley State Park is a public recreation area along the Patapsco River. Our retirement community residents enjoy hiking and fishing along the river. Certain areas allow swimming, boating and camping.

B&O STATION MUSEUM

B&O Ellicott City Station Museum is a National Historic Landmark preserving the nation’s oldest surviving railroad station originally constructed in 1831. Two floors of exhibits detail the history of the B&O Line. Outside on the museum’s grounds, an HO-scale model displays the first 13 miles of track on the line and a restored 1927 caboose.
