Golf Tournament

Join us for a day of fun on the greens at The Links at Gettysburg! Our annual golf tournament is all about having a blast while supporting a great cause—helping residents in need. With over $1.6 million raised so far, your participation helps keep our Benevolent Care Fund going strong. Every swing makes a difference, so grab your clubs and join us in making a lasting impact.

Bequests

You can make a meaningful impact by including a bequest in your will or adding a codicil to an existing one. Whether it’s a fixed amount, a percentage, or the residual value of your estate, your gift can support the Ministry of Caring Endowment Fund, Benevolent Care Fund, or another cause close to your heart. It’s a simple way to leave a lasting legacy for the community.

Retirement Accounts/Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

Looking to make a lasting impact? Consider designating Carroll Lutheran Village as the beneficiary of your retirement assets. Haven’t taken your required minimum distribution (RMD) from your traditional IRA yet? A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) could be the perfect way to support our mission and reduce your taxes at the same time! By making a QCD with your RMD, you can lower your taxable income and still take the full standard deduction—talk about a smart planning move!

Matching Gifts

Did you know your employer might match your donations, even if you’re retired? Check with them to see if they offer a matching gift program—it’s a great way to double your impact! Charitable Gift Annuities

When you set up a charitable gift annuity, you’ll receive guaranteed income for life—either for you or a loved one. Plus, you’ll enjoy a significant income tax deduction in the year you make the gift, and part of the annual income you receive will be tax-free. It’s a win-win!

Donor Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund (DAF) allows you, your family, or your business to make tax-deductible donations of cash, publicly traded stock, and sometimes certain liquid assets to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program. It’s a flexible way to support causes you care about while benefiting from tax advantages.

Securities and Mutual Funds

Gifting securities and mutual funds offers a double tax benefit, making them a popular choice. If you’re interested, reach out to us for easy transfer instructions. For securities in a brokerage account, we can guide you through setting up an electronic transfer. If you have physical stock certificates, we’ll help you sign them over and complete the necessary stock power form.

Life Insurance

You can make a gift of life insurance by naming Carroll Lutheran Village as a beneficiary, contingent beneficiary, or by transferring ownership of the policy. If you transfer ownership, you’ll receive an income tax deduction for the policy’s cash surrender value and any future premiums.

Real Estate and Tangible Personal Property

You can donate real estate or personal property to Carroll Lutheran Village. Since there are some unique considerations with these types of gifts, we recommend reaching out to us to discuss your plans and how we can assist.

How to Support Our Mission

Carroll Lutheran Village is a private, faith-based, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that gratefully accepts gifts of cash, securities, and real or personal property. Donations can be made outright or through planned giving options such as charitable annuities, life insurance, trusts, and bequests. Over the years, we’ve been blessed by the generosity of our residents, conference churches, local businesses, friends, residents’ families, and the Friends of the Village auxiliary, all helping to support our mission.
