Creative Arts

Let your imagination run wild in our Heuer Art Studio, where you can practice painting, pottery and other creative techniques. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just looking to explore your artistic side, our studio is fully equipped to inspire your creativity.

Gardening

If you’ve been blessed with a green thumb, we have plenty of spaces for you to nurture your love of gardening. Whether you want to grow flowers to decorate your home or herbs and vegetables to add to your meals, you can grow whatever your heart desires in our resident garden plots, and if you are living in one of our homes, you can cultivate a garden in your home’s yard. Gardening is wonderful for staying active and being one with nature.

Model Train Room

Our HO model train room is perfect for designing and building intricate model train layouts, sharing tips with fellow enthusiasts and simply enjoying a fun, hands-on activity that brings people together.

Card and Game Rooms

When you’re looking for a little friendly competition, look to our card and game rooms where you can play bridge, poker, billiards and shuffleboard, to name a few. From classic card games to games that test your hand-eye coordination, there’s always something to challenge your mind and keep the fun going.

Music

Practice your musical talents in our music room. Tickle the ivories on our piano, strum your favorite guitar or practice your vocals as one of our chapel’s choir members. Whether you’re a novice or seasoned musician, this space will fill your heart with music.

Though if listening to music is more to your liking, check out the CDs in our library.

Library and Computer Lab

If you’re a library lover, you’ll love our library. Relax with a cup of coffee or tea in our reading room, which feels like a cozy family room, as you get your daily news from popular newspapers or flip through any one of our many magazines.

Whether you’re looking to lose yourself in a great fictional book or satisfy your quizzical mind with our non-fiction books, they’re available for you to check out and read wherever you choose.

Perhaps you’re more interested in audiobooks. Not to worry, we’ve got those too, along with musical CDs and DVDs, including a selection for the grandkids when they visit. We even have a DVD viewing room; just bring the popcorn.

Our computer room is a great resource for checking your email or researching your latest interest, and our meeting rooms serve a variety of purposes, from resident book club meetings to research.

Additionally, Carroll Lutheran Village is often visited by Carroll County Public Library’s book mobile. Periodically, author book talks are arranged at our community or as a resident trip.

In addition to our dedicated hobby spaces, we offer a variety of resident clubs and committees where you can bond with others over shared interests including:
