Our Vice President of Operations’, Ken Connelly, interview with Ann McDermott, assistant executive director, reveals professional and personal insights. This Nebraskan native details how she started her career in government relations, after graduating from Creighton University in Omaha, NE, and changed careers nearly 30 years later to work in senior living.
She came to Carroll Lutheran Village thanks to a tip from her former colleague, Connelly – the same person who interviewed her. With her vast amount of assisted living and memory care support experience, she was thinking she was ready for a new challenge. Around the same time, she got a call from Connelly, telling her about a new position opening at CLV. She applied and the rest is history.
She lives with her 90 pound malamute, Mika, and is very active in a malamute rescue association. Her brother, a retired priest, and his beagle recently moved in with them, which has resulted in some interesting dynamics between the two dogs.
