At Carroll Lutheran Village, our main goal is for residents to live healthy and independent lives for as long as possible. That’s why we offer an array of programs and state of the art amenities to help our residents stay fit, and healthy such as an onsite fitness center and pool, exercise programs, scheduled entertainment, regular outings and plenty of opportunities to socialize within the community. One of our residents, Yvonne Aasen is a good example of how taking advantage of all the opportunities our Continuing Care Retirement Community offers has helped her maintain good health during her retirement years, and her recent achievements certainly prove it.
Yvonne Aasen was a runner at the 2022 National Senior Games in Miramar, Florida. Yvonne participated in the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m and the 4X100m relays. The medals she brought home include 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. She also brought home 2 fourth place ribbons. Yvonne is a member of The Annapolis Striders and The Westminster Road Runners Club. She embraces the opportunity to compete and feels competitive even when she doesn’t have any competition. Her regimen includes weight training in the gym 3 times a week and running or walking 2 or 3 times a week. She also walks the CLV campus to get to her destinations instead of taking the shuttle bus. Yvonne is a true inspiration, encouraging us all to stay active and keep moving. As a resident at Carroll Lutheran Village, you will lead a stress-free, maintenance-free lifestyle. You’ll have the time to relax, get some good sleep, and pursue your passions, which is essential in living longer.
Here’s where all the pieces of a perfect retirement come together. The Missing Piece.
